Necessity is oftentimes the mother of invention.

Local artist Fred Shields knows this all too well--it's what led him and
partners Jeff Martin and Jeremy Efroymson to organize Primary Colours.

The arts group Primary Colours is responsible for the bi-annual exhibit
Allotropy Trois, running this weekend at the Harrison Centre for the Arts.
