Eunuchs seek cuts in Tamil film `Appu'

Eunuchs in Tamil Nadu are demanding cuts in a ready-to-be-released Tamil
film, "Appu," which reportedly has derogatory references to their
community.

Representatives of eunuchs, who do not approve of the way members of their
community are depicted in Tamil films, have asked the censor board to cut
some dialogue in "Appu," directed by Vasanth.

"The film industry can no longer depict the woman character being raped and
victimized because of protests from women's organizations," representatives
of a eunuchs' association ...
