Columbia Contretemps: Can Women Recite Kiddush?

NEW YORK -- Columbia University's Jewish students have a brand- new, $11.5
million center in which to study, pray and socialize, a handsome, six-story
edifice clad in Jerusalem stone that promises to make Jewish life here even
more vibrant. Now if only students could stop arguing over whether women
may make the blessing over the Sabbath wine at communal meals.
