MEXICO CITY -- Mexico City's Yiddish day schools, long the pride of the
Yiddishist world, are reeling from an administrative decision that could
strongly change their character: a drastic cutback in the hours of Yiddish
instruction. The three day schools teach students the Yiddish language,
Yiddish literature and Jewish history -- all in Yiddish.
