He fought at Entebbe with Yoni
"Don't forget to show the IDF (Israel Defense Force) the diploma with
computers," Jack Orenstein's mother reminded him as she saw him off at the
bus. The year was 1974 and the newly minted high-school graduate was headed
for his army service.
As the bus pulled away, Orenstein recalled with a chuckle, "I tore the
diploma in pieces and threw it away. I wanted to be in the front lines."
Not in front of a computer behind a safe desk.
