Coretta Scott King Discusses Government's Responsibility to Children

Strides in the military and in technology have made America great, but the
country has failed when it comes to investing in its children said, Coretta
Scott-King during the Lawrence Hall Youth Services (LHYS) first-ever
fundraiser luncheon.
"America is first in military spending and in technology, but 21 countries
have a lower infant mortality rate (than America)," said Scott-King, the
widow of slain civil rights activist, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
"We are number one in military power, but American children are 12 times
more likely to die from gun ...
