Moldavia and the Russia-Belarus Union

Moldavia's Communist Party won an overwhelming victory in Moldavia's recent
parliamentary elections. Soon thereafter, Vladimir Voromin, the party's
boss, announced that he would hold a referendum in the country seeking a
union with Russia and another former Soviet republic. The quickest manner
in which to accomplish this is by joining the Russia-Belarus Union. The
Communist Party strongman said that a union with Moscow was inevitable now
that his party was the dominant power in Moldova.
