The year 2001 will mark the 17"' Centenary of the Proclamation of
Christianity in Armenia. Christianity reached Armenia in the first century
when St. Thaddeus and St. Bartholomew, two apostles of our Lord Jesus
Christ, came to preach "the way, the truth and the life" to the Armenian
nation. In 301 AD, through the dedicated efforts of St. Gregory the
Illuminator and the ardent support of King Tiridates III, Christianity was
declared Armenia's state religion, ...
