Bahamians dance through streets to celebrate 30th Independence Day

Hundreds of revelers filled the streets of the Bahamas' capital at
dawn Thursday, beating goat skin drums and ringing cow bells to celebrate
the Caribbean country's 30th anniversary of independence from Britain.
Many dressed in traditional carnival costumes adorned with feathers
and glitter, while blowing horns and whistles. A parade was scheduled
for later Thursday.
Singer Lenny Kravitz, whose late mother was Bahamian, appeared at
