DAN RATHER, CBS ANCHOR: The Academy Award-winning actor Gregory Peck has died. He was 87. Peck received his final Hollywood honor just the other day. The character he played in "To Kill a Mockingbird" was named the number-one hero, ever, in American films.

CBS`s Jerry Bowen tells us, Gregory Peck often played men who spoke out loudly and clearly for human dignity.
