Developers swoop on Haiphong sites, THE VIETNAM INVESTMENT REVIEW

A number of local investors and hotel developers are to establish a large
hotel and a recreational facility in the northern city of Haiphong, home
to Do Son Casino and Cat Ba island. Sources from the Haiphong Tourism Department
revealed the city gave the go-ahead to Hanoi-based Nam Cuong Trading and
Tourism Company to build a $15-million hotel complex, and to the Vietnam
Chamber of Commerce and Industry to develop a $10.5-million amusement park
in Do Son town.
The local property market suffered an investment downturn in the wake
of the Asian economic crisis ...
