We were talking about Baghdad, and today we went looking for some
sense of what Baghdad is like. It's hard to find an exact analogy
to a US city--maybe Phoenix would fit if the Salt River flowed right
through the city rather than nearby; a big city plopped down in the
desert with a smattering of high-rise offices and hotels, and mostly
low-lying residential neighborhoods.
