SA: Human shields not naive, says Australian participant

ADELAIDE, March 11 AAP - Westerners who went to Iraq to act as human shields were not naive or stupid, just committed, according to an Adelaide woman in Baghdad for that purpose.

Ruth Russell, 55, said her group included people from Australia, England, Scotland and the United States.

"We have 10 people and are a cohesive, sensible group who have made emergency plans as much as anyone can," Mrs Russell said in her latest email to friends.
