Fed: More productive merinos needed amid concerns over wool

CANBERRA, March 4 AAP - Is the merino sheep the bludger of Australian livestock?

For almost 200 years, the Australian wool industry has ridden on the back of merino sheep.

But the head of Australian Wool Industries (AWI), Ian McLachlan, said today the merino was just not up to the standard of other livestock.
