SYDNEY, Australia - Grote Reber, a pioneer of radio astronomy who
built an antenna dish in his Illinois back yard in the 1930s and tuned
it to radio signals from space, has died at age 90.
Mr. Reber died in Australia's southern island state of Tasmania on
Dec. 20, according to Dr. Fred Lo, director of the National Radio
