Whether you have or not, researchers at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab have already asked and answered the question.

"The contact between water and anything is such an important topic, " said Berkeley Lab scientist Miquel Salmeron. "It's surprising that nowadays, in 2002, we still don't know much about how water is organized at the surface of a material."
