DAR ES SALAAM, Mar. 20 (AIA/GIN) -- The population of Dar es
Salaam is growing at an alarming rate, and according to experts
will result in serious health and environmental hazards if it is
not curtailed.
Dar es Salaam has an estimated population of three million and
an annual growth rate of eight percent, the third highest in sub-
Saharan Africa after Lagos and Abidjan. However the development of
social services has not kept pace and in fact has worsened.
