THE head of the General Security Service's protection department resigned yesterday, and the head of the GSS suspended three other senior officials, following the findings of the internal committee investigating the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin.

Those suspended were the head of the VIP protection unit, the head of the operations unit, and the official directly in charge of the security at Saturday's peace rally.

The suspensions are temporary, pending the findings of the state inquiry commission that was established yesterday. But a security source ...
