Thursday, August 29, 2002 -- Philosophers, historians, and other admirers
of the 17th-century Jewish thinker Baruch Spinoza haven't been licked.
After decades of efforts, they persuaded the Postal Authority's Philatelic
Services to issue a stamp honoring him in "The Contribution of Jews
to the Culture of the World" series.
The NIS 5.90 stamp was drawn by Ruth Beckman Malka according to an
old woodcut and designed by Haviv Khoury. It is suitable for ...
