Asia: East Timor displeased at six Indonesian warships

DILI, May 18 AAP - East Timor has raised its displeasure with Jakarta over six Indonesian navy ships entering East Timor's waters ahead of President Megawati Sukarnoputri's visit to Dili tomorrow.

East Timor Foreign Minister Jose Ramos-Horta played down the diplomatic incident, blaming the Indonesian military rather than the government.

"We have raised the matter with the appropriate authorities in Jakarta," Ramos-Horta said today.
