Dateline: MOSCOW Russia's Communist Party chief on Thursday accused President Vladimir Putin of betraying the country in a nuclear arms reduction deal with the United States and pledged to initiate a vote of no-confidence in the government.

"A large-scale national treason is being prepared in the Kremlin," Communist party leader Gennady Zyuganov said in a statement released Thursday. "President Putin is effectively preparing to destroy the strategic forces created by the labor of two generations of our fellow countrymen."
