James Holmberg considers himself lucky. He was among the first to
examine a batch of long-lost letters written by explorer William Clark
of the Lewis and Clark expedition to Clark's brother, Jonathan. The
letters turned up in the attic of a Clark descendant in Louisville
who had just died. Holmberg first saw them in 1989.
