PARIS, April 1 (Xinhua) -- French President Jacques Chirac on Monday
morning
strongly condemned Sunday's fire, which destroyed the Or Aviv synagogue
in Marseilles, demanded that the government take measures to protect
Jewish
religious places, and called for tolerance among the French people.
