Fed: Euthanasia laws absurd: Enderby QC

SYDNEY, March 24 AAP - Existing laws which make it a crime to assist a suicide, when suicide itself is not crime, are "absurd", a former attorney-general said today.

Kep Enderby, QC, who served as attorney general during the last year of the Whitlam government, has been a long-term supporter of voluntary euthanasia.

Mr Enderby said every person has a right to a gentle death.
