mediation, Muslim and Christian representatives in Maluku province
Tuesday
signed a peace agreement that may end the three-year communal conflict
that has claimed more than 6,000 lives and displaced some 700,000
people.
According to reports reaching here Wednesday, the 11-point agreement
was read by Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Jusuf Kalla
at the
end of their two-day meeting in Malino, some 70 kilometers northeast
of
the South Sulawesi provincial capital of Makassar.
