Late pickups and donations added 4 tons to Walk and Knock’s weekend haul, bringing the food drive total to about 134 tons.
Last year’s food drive netted about 130 tons, valued at about $300,000. Jim Terrell, co-chairman of the food drive, said officials hadn’t yet determined a monetary worth for this year’s drive.
As Clark County’s largest food drive, Walk and Knock provides about 30 percent of the annual food donations for the county’s 11 food banks.
And that food is needed.
