Fed: ABC to split managing director's responsibilities

CANBERRA, Dec 10 AAP - The ABC board has decided to split the managing director's job
and create a new role of deputy as it continues to search for a replacement for Jonathan
Shier.

Mr Shier resigned in October, just 19 months into a five-year contract, after a controversial
reign including staff redundancies and the departure of top executives.

But the new boss will only have half the responsibilities Mr Shier had, with the creation
of a deputy managing director's post to oversee operational ...
