Shahriar Kabir, writer and Acting President of the Ghatak Dalal
Nirmul Committee, was arrested and sent to jail yesterday on charge of
anti-state activities.
He was held at around 7 pm on Thursday on his return from Kolkata by
air. Police recovered four video cassettes from his possession. The CMM
court yesterday sent him to the Dhaka Central Jail rejecting his bail prayer.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mudabbir Hossain Chowdhury told
newsmen yesterday that the material carried by Shahriar Kabir contained
certain things that were violative of the law ...
