LAGOS, November 7 (Xinhua) -- About 550,000 people have been displaced
by lingering ethnic clashes between the ethnic Tiv and Jukun people in
Nigeria's central region, local media reported on Wednesday.
Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo met on Tuesday in the capital
Abuja with governors from the Middle Belt states of Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa
and Plateau to discuss how to end the ethno- religious violence, which
has claimed more than 500 lives.
