Anthrax spreads through government

WASHINGTON, Oct 29, 2001 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- The government on Monday worked multiple fronts, attending to the nation's business, coping with the relentless spread of anthrax along the Brentwood mail trail and working to ensure the safety of postal workers, 13,000 of who are taking antibiotics.

Officials said 6,000 postal workers in the Washington/Baltimore area and 7,000 in New York and New Jersey were taking antibiotics because anthrax spores were found at various postal facilities.
