Sunday, October 28, 2001 -- VILNIUS - Fania Brancovksaja remembers how the Holocaust started in Lithuania, when German soldiers and local police rounded up scores of young, mostly male, Jews.
They were told they were to take part in "work" brigades and to bring a bar of soap. "Later, when they were burning the corpses they found these towels and soap," Brancovksaja said.
