Mont-Blanc tunnel to reopen
PARIS, Oct 27, 2001 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- French and Italian transportation ministers announced late Friday that the Mont-Blanc tunnel
would be reopened Dec. 15, two years after a fiery crash closed the tunnel and days after a similar Swiss accident.
Following a meeting in Paris, Italian Transportation Minister Pietro Lunardi and his French counterpart,Jean-Claude Gayssot, announced the tunnel would be reopened to cars by the second week of December, and to trucks several weeks later.
