Islamabad a Blueprint for Security
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) -- A scrubbed youth in tie and sunglasses strolls across the street, guiding a bearded man wearing the traditional pajama-like shalwar kameez. Outside a passport office, Afghans in swirling turbans squat in languid conversation.
Muslim militants may have burned a KFC in Karachi, rampaged through a U.N. compound in Quetta and invoked holy war in Peshawar and Lahore. But the wide avenues and tree-choked neighborhoods of Pakistan's capital reveal little hint of anything amiss.
