TEHRAN, October 2 (Xinhua) -- U.N. Secretary- General Kofi Annan has written
to Iranian President Mohammad Khatami to seek fresh humanitarian assistance
to Afghan refugees, the official IRNA news agency reported on Tuesday.
The letter will be delivered to Khatami by U.N. Under-Secretary
General for Humanitarian Affairs Kenzo Oshima, who arrived in Iran's northeastern
