Geography Sabah is perched on the northeastern corner of Borneo. To the
southwest are Brunei and Sarawak, another Malaysian state, while its southern
neighbor is Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo). It has a heavily indented coastline
washed by the South China Sea in the west and north, the Sulu Sea in the
northeast and the Celebes Sea in the east. It is called the Land Below
The Wind because it is located just south of the typhoon belt.
It takes under two hours to fly to Sabah from Kuala Lumpur or
