NT: Labor to integrate black and white law - Martin
By Rod McGuirk
DARWIN, Aug 23 AAP - The Northern Territory's new Labor government will attempt to
integrate Aboriginal law with Territory law, Chief Minister-Elect Clare Martin promised
today.
Ms Martin and her seven-member cabinet to be announced tomorrow will be sworn in on Monday.
Already Labor's promise to scrap mandatory sentencing has taken effect, with Darwin
magistrate David Loadman today announcing he would refuse to sentence anyone under the
laws condemned internationally as racist.
