MANILA, August 22 (Xinhua) -- The local subsidiary of Japanese computer
and electronics firm Fujitsu plans to halt production of hard disk drives
for personal computers as a result of the slump in the global PC market,
an official of the subsidiary said on Wednesday.
"Most likely we're gearing towards putting an end to the manufacture
of hard disk drives for the desktop (PC) market," Ernie Espinosa of Fujitsu
Computer Products Corp. of the Philippines (FCPCP), was quoted as saying
by a hilippine Daily Inquirer online news report.
