Fed: asthma and wheeze still major concern

BRISBANE, Aug 5 AAP - Australian children continue to wheeze at a worrying rate, experts say.

A review of the burden of asthma warns that the disease is still worse in Australia
compared to most other countries.

Dr Guy Marks, head of epidemiology at the Institute of Respiratory Medicine in Sydney,
said it was vital to find the cause of wheezing.

"Some of this wheeze may not be asthma and some may be mild asthma, but it is concerning
that so many people have wheeze," he said.
