LONDON - British philosopher Sir Isaiah Berlin, one of the century's greatest thinkers, has died after a protracted illness, Oxford University said yesterday. He was 88.
An official at the university said Berlin, a prolific author and historian of political thought, had died on Wednesday night.
Family friends said he had been in and out of hospital since July.
