The operation to salvage the nuclear submarine Kursk, which sunk a year
ago, is rapidly proceeding in the Barents Sea with most of the work being
done by Dutch and other foreign contractors. At the same time, the Russian
navy says Western intelligence has been activity trying to get to the sub.
The commander of Russia's naval aviation, Ivan Fedin, recently told reporters
that "foreign submarines have been sighted trying to enter the area" but
