Fed: Fugitive banker Cabal to to face charges in Mexico

MELBOURNE, Aug 2 AAP - Mexican banker Carlos Cabal had dropped his fight against extradition
to his homeland because he feared for his safety and mental stability in a Melbourne prison,
his Australian lawyer said today.

"It reached the stage that it became clear to Mr Cabal that after two and a half years
in prison he could not obtain his release in order to go on with the High Court appeal,"
