JAKARTA, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's Maluku Police detained on Monday
the Maluku Sovereignty Front (FKM) separatist movement's leader Alex Manuputty,
following the recent hoisting of a separatist flag and alleged treasonable
activities in the disputed province, the Jakarta Post.com online service
reported Monday.
FKM secretary-general Hengky Manuhutu confirmed that Alex was detained
by the police on Monday after being questioned for about five hours from
10 a.m. local time at Maluku Police headquarters. He will be detained for
at least 20 days, Hengky said.
