UN Accuses Uganda of Looting Congo's Mineral Resources, XINHUA

KAMPALA, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Foreign armies, particularly Rwanda and Uganda,
are allegedly involved in "mass-scale looting" of the mineral resources
in the Democratic Republic of the Congo ( DRC), pillaging everything from
gold to livestock, the New Vision daily, a leading newspaper in Uganda,
quoted a United Nations (U.N) report as saying on Tuesday.
A U.N. panel called for tough measures to stop the plunder of natural
resources in the DRC, which it said is the motive and engine of the war
there.
