LAGOS, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has reiterated
the need for peace among the various ethnic groups in the country, noting
that it is the only way social and economic development can be achieved,
local media reported on Tuesday. At a conference in Ijebu-Ode, southern
Ogun State, Obasanjo appealed for more cooperation among the nation's ethnic
groups and commended the cooperation between the Egbas and Ijebus ethnic
