JS session prorogued, THE INDEPENDENT

The 22nd session of seventh Parliament was prorogued yesterday a
fortnight after it sat amid heightened political tensions, report agencies.
Speaker Humayun Rasheed Chowdhury read out the prorogation order from
the President after Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
made her winding-up speech.
The session, which had only nine working days passed some 21 important
bills.
A significant feature of the session was that Ershad-led Jatiya Party
lawmakers who had boycotted the Sangsad for about two years jointed it.
