PYONGYANG, March 26 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of
Korea (DPRK) established diplomatic ties with New Zealand at the ambassadorial
level as of March 26, said a press statement released here on Monday.
The statement said that being desirous of developing friendly and
cooperative relations on the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty,
non-interference in the other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefits,
the two countries have decided to establish diplomatic ties.
