The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) police yesterday arrested
Mizanur Rahman Tota, chief of Bangla daily Inquilab's Jessore Bureau, from
his New Khairtola residence for his alleged involvement in the killing
of Janakantha correspondent Shamsur Rahman.
The arrest of Tota evoked criticism from the journalists in Jessore.
They held a protest meeting there yesterday and demanded his unconditional
release.
Tota was taken on a six-day remand. He will be brought to Dhaka today
for interrogation at the CID headquarters, source said.
