TVER, Central Russia - As a medical student from Cameroon in Central
Russia, Tafen Vangy Marcel Cleber has had to develop a quick tongue and
stay ahead of the punchlines since he came here nine years ago to study
medicine. "Know why blacks have such white smiles?" he says as an opener.
"Because you'll never see us sunbathing with our mouths open." Its a joke
he made up himself. For his next act, however, Tafen will be running to
be the first black mayor of Tver - if he gains his Russian citizenship
by August and the 3,000 signatures ...
