Former Zambian Environment Minister Ben Mwila revealed his plan to form
a new party, saying he would make the formal announcement on the name of
the party later, Times of Zambia reported on Friday.

Mwila was quoted as saying at a press conference held here on Thursday
that he had decided to form his own party to continue with his desire to
drag Zambians out of poverty. He said agriculture which had been neglected
by the ruling Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) would be the core
for economic development by his party. This, he added, would help reduce
poverty.
