Shares of Pharmacia Corp. swooned 8.6 percent Monday after
regulators squelched a key piece of the drug maker's cornerstone
painkiller franchise.

The Peapack company said Friday that it received a "not
approvable" letter from the Food and Drug Administration for its
experimental painkiller, parecoxib sodium.
